Jupiter President's Day Tournament Results

Parkland predator U-12 Boys Tournament Review After finishing the regular season impressively with just two defeats, the predators headed up to Jupiter for the Presidents Day weekend tournament. There was an air of excitement among the players as they departed from their homes after school on Friday and made their way up to the hotel. There is something just a little special about a team going up to a tournament together and competing for a prize. It's not just about the games and the competition, but it also involves bonding between teammates, between fathers and sons, and between friends. First, and foremost, the boys represented their city with pride, heart and sportsmanship. They were a credit to the club and the city of Parkland, both on and off the field. They ended the tournament as runners up. This is quite an accomplishment considering the teams they were drawn against in the group stage of the competition. The clubs they played were from areas that are significantly larger than Parkland, and therefore have significantly larger pools of players from which to select their tournament squads. These included, Miami, Wellington, Boca Raton, and Lake Worth. Despite losing their starting goalkeeper to injury early in the first game, the boys went on to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition, and won their semi-final match in fine fashion, beating South Palm Beach by three goals to book their place in the final. They were beaten by a team from Miami in the final but played hard and competed until the last kick. The team is currently competing in the Region “A” Cup. They won their qualifying group over the weekend winning all three group stage games against larger clubs including Sunrise, Boca and Wellington. The team scored ten goals while conceding just two during the group stage. They will play against Miami Springs in the quarter finals in two weeks time.
